What is Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)?
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a relatively new form of psychotherapy that is designed to treat a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other trauma-related disorders. ART is an evidence-based, brief therapy that typically involves 1-5 sessions, with each session lasting 60-90 minutes.

How does it work?

Mental Imagery: Clients are asked to visualize a scene related to their trauma or negative emotion. The therapist then guides them through a process of desensitization, where the intensity of the emotion is reduced.
Eye Movements: Clients are asked to follow the therapist's fingers as they move back and forth in front of the client's face. This technique is similar to EMDR and is designed to help reduce the intensity of negative emotions and memories.
Mindfulness: Clients are taught mindfulness techniques to help them stay grounded in the present moment and reduce feelings of anxiety or depression.
